Under normal circumstances, this would be a very exciting time of year for you. After seven years of primary school education you are almost ready to leave for BIG school.

You may all be grown up now but I am sure you have many happy memories of your time here. We certainly won’t forget you.

Normally, in school at this time of year, you would be preparing your leavers assembly – a big occasion for you all. Unfortunately, that is not possible thanks to Covid 19.

But don’t despair! We have an idea and we need your help.

We want to give you something you can keep and treasure forever. Something to make you smile. Something to remember your friends by.

We have decided to create a Spring Hill Year 6 News Bites video and we want you to be news reporters.

Think about your favourite memories and funny stories throughout your time in school.

What made you smile the most or make you laugh out loud?

What impressed you or left a lasting impression?

Which staff members have impressed you and can you remember any funny stories about them?

We also want you to list your top 5 Spring Hill moments. These can be related to a specific subject, a school trip, a sport, an assembly or visitor to the school for example.

Finally, we want you to pay tribute to your friends. Tell us who have been your buddies throughout your time in Spring Hill and tell us why they are special to you.

We would like you to write down your thoughts in the form of a short report on Spring Hill in the role of a TV News Presenter.

You can dress up if you like and look silly in front of the camera.

You could start your report with:

“Hello, welcome to Spring Hill News Bites. My name is….

My first story refers to…

I could not believe it when…

Be wary of Mrs Greenhough (or any name) because…

I will miss Spring Hill because..

Finally, I would like to say goodbye to my best friends…

All video entries will be put together as one and put onto a disc for you to keep. The more we receive, the more special it will be.

Email your videos to class5B@springhill.lancs.sch.uk.
