Spring Hill Community Primary School

At Spring Hill School we strive to provide the best possible education for the children in our care recognising their unique gifts and personalities and seeking to promote excellence in both behaviour and learning.

Learning is the principle reason for Spring Hill Primary School’s existence; it is at the heart of everything we do. It is an activity which involves and is participated in by everyone. At our school we believe learning is only part of the development and therefore we are committed to the achievements of the whole child. Everything we do is based around current research which underpins our curriculumvision and values.

We see ourselves as a family at the centre of our school community in which we are all valued equally as individuals. We respect and empathise with each other and with all members of society. Our school RAISE values – Respect, Aspiration, Inclusivity, Service and Empowerment are embedded in the daily life of the school. We strive constantly for our children to enjoy school, have fun and to be enthusiastic lifelong learners. We believe in an active curriculum that provides Awe and Wonder', engages and motivates the children, promotes a healthy lifestyle and the need to look after the environment. We aim to prepare our children with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding they will need to thrive academically, but we also focus on preparing them to have the necessary life skills, knowledge and understanding they will need to be equipped for the world they will face in the future to enable them to contribute positively to society – whatever that future may be!

At Spring Hill Primary School, we value the diverse ethnic backgrounds of all pupils and families and undertake a variety of events and lessons to celebrate these. We find this approach to be enriching for all parties as it teaches tolerance and respect for the differences in our community and the wider world and an understanding that there is no such thing as ‘normal’. Underpinning all of this are a range of curriculum topics which have strong links to Britain’s position in the world.
