Pastoral Team

At Spring Hill CP School we have a Pastoral team that comprises a SENCO and Pastoral Lead, two Family Support Workers, one Attendance Officer, two Learning Mentors, and one Family Liaison Officer and Welfare Staff.  This increased support for children and Spring Hill Families will allow children's pastoral needs to be met first allowing them to thrive in their education.  

 

The Purpose of the Pastoral Lead

Neil Blower

  • To support the development of organisation, management and development of the school with a focus on behaviour across all key stages.
  • Maintain an effective whole school behaviour for Learning and Safety culture.
  • Ensure rigorous monitoring of a whole school behaviour standards.
  • Ensure the provision for professional development and support opportunities ensure the highest standards of behaviour management among staff.
  • To co-ordinate the effective deployment of resources and strategies to ensure that students behavioural and emotional needs are being met and they are able to engage in learning effectively.
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
  • To support the development of the pastoral team by providing long, medium, and short term objectives that give the pastoral team a clear vision in how to perform their roles successfully

The Purpose of the Role of Family Support Workers

Tracey Riley and Liz Kay

  • To work alongside children and families, offering practical and emotional support, enabling families to help themselves and support adults in their roles as parents and carers.
  • To provide or source specialised support for children and their families based on their needs.
  • To work within the school’s Safeguarding Policy, assisting families to access relevant and timely interventions with the impact being to improve the educational outcomes of the child.
  • To work with families to ensure that all statutory frameworks for safeguarding is followed within schools and held to the highest standard.
  • To take the role as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

The Purpose of the Role of Learning Mentors

Leane Clarke and Semeena Zamann

  • Working directly with pupils to provide mentoring and/or support to overcome particular obstacles to learning in relation to behaviour or attendance

The Purpose of the Role of the Family Liaison Worker

The Purpose of the Role of the Attendance Officer

Jo Clayton

  • To deliver established procedures to address the needs of pupils and their parents/carers who require additional support to overcome the barriers to learning; including attendance and behaviour.

The Purpose of the Role for the Welfare Assistants

To secure the safety, welfare, and good conduct of pupils during the midday break period.
